1. The line of Xuan gong is today spread across Jiangxi, Sichuan, Fujian, Guangdong, Hunan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and south China.

2. Rich in pioneering spirit, the descendants of the Wu have survived countless wars, natural disasters and harsh environments through thousands of years of historical change. Their footprints cover the whole world; many have gone to neighbouring lands such as Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and to every part of the globe.

3. Xuan gong, styled Jicai (AD 874-950), Taibo's seventy-first-generation descendant, carried forward Taibo's pioneering spirit. Heedless that he was an old man of 63, he abandoned the comfortable nest of an imperial son-in-law and resolutely led his whole family from Sichuan across a thousand miles of mountains and rivers to Jiangxi, Nanping and Linchuan to found a new home. Later generations praised him in verse: 'He would not wear the royal title the Meng house conferred; he trekked through cloud and mountain, ten thousand folds deep; he came to Jiangnan and became our founding ancestor; for a thousand ages those after him look up to his lofty spirit.'
